1. The agreement
By downloading or using Orbit (the iPhone app, the website and the web app at /app), you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. “Orbit”, “we” and “us” mean the team that runs Orbit. If you do not agree, please do not use Orbit.
2. iPhone app licence (EULA)
If you got Orbit from the App Store, your licence to use the app is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). These terms add to the Standard EULA. Where they conflict, the Standard EULA applies to the app.
You acknowledge that these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for any claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
3. What Orbit does and does not do
Orbit helps you find internships, prepare applications and stay focused:
- Discover shows live roles from open sources such as public SimplifyJobs lists and employer job boards.
- The crew of six AI agents matches roles to your CV and drafts cover letters and answers. The Guardian agent checks every draft against your CV.
- Autopilot opens postings inside Orbit and fills application forms from your profile and résumé, so you can check them and press submit yourself.
- The CV rater scores your CV and suggests fixes.
- Lock-ins are timed focus sessions that earn XP, streaks and, if you opt in, places on campus leaderboards.
Orbit never submits applications or contacts employers for you. You decide what to send. You are responsible for checking that everything you submit, including fields Orbit filled in, is true and accurate. Fit scores and CV scores are heuristic guides, not predictions, and Orbit does not guarantee interviews, offers or any other outcome. Listings come from third parties and may be incomplete, out of date or closed.
4. Who can use Orbit
Orbit is built for students and recent graduates. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough in your country to agree to these terms or have a parent or guardian’s permission. You do not need to create an account: the app uses an anonymous account tied to your install.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of your CV, profile and anything else you put into Orbit. You give us permission to process that content only to run the features you use, as described in the Privacy Policy. Only upload information about yourself that you have the right to share. Drafts Orbit generates for you are yours to use, edit or discard.
6. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- Use Orbit to create false or misleading applications, or to impersonate someone else.
- Upload other people’s personal data without their permission.
- Try to get around plan limits, probe or overload our systems, scrape the service, or reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows.
- Attempt prompt injection or otherwise try to make the agents behave against their checks.
- Use Orbit for anything unlawful.
We may limit or suspend access that breaks these rules or puts other users or the service at risk.
7. Plans and free trial
| Plan | Price (USD) | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 1 crew run a week, up to 5 roles a run and 20 roles a month; Guardian check on every draft; 1 CV rating a day; application tracker, Autopilot and lock-ins |
| Pro | $5.99 a month or $47.99 a year | Everything in Free, plus up to 7 crew runs a week (so one every night), up to 25 roles a run and 60 roles a month; scheduled night-shift runs; unlimited CV ratings (fair use: 30 a day) |
| Max | $10.00 a month or $79.99 a year | Everything in Pro, plus up to 21 crew runs a week and 150 roles a month, and priority models |
- The subscription screen in the app shows each plan’s current allowances before you buy. If they differ from this table, the subscription screen applies.
- Prices are shown in US dollars. In the App Store, Apple sets the price in your local currency for your country or region, and that price is shown before you buy. Prices may include tax where required.
- Free trial: Pro and Max include a 14-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. Apple decides eligibility for App Store trials, which are usually limited to one per Apple ID for each subscription group. When the trial ends, the subscription starts automatically and you are charged unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Fair use: “Unlimited” CV ratings have a fair-use cap of 30 a day to protect the service from abuse. Normal personal use will not reach it. Runs and roles reset each week and each month.
- We may change plans or prices. A price change never affects a period you have already paid for, and we, or Apple, will tell you before a new price applies.
8. Auto-renewing subscriptions in the iPhone app
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and for the same period (monthly or yearly) unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone (Apple’s guide). Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription, where applicable.
- Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- To restore a subscription on a new or reset iPhone, use Restore Purchases on Orbit’s subscription screen.
9. Web subscriptions
Subscriptions bought on the website are billed by Stripe on the same monthly or yearly terms and also renew automatically until cancelled. To cancel, email support@example.com from the address you used at checkout. We will stop the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the paid period. A subscription bought on the web is managed on the web, and an App Store subscription is managed by Apple. Where the law gives you a right to cancel and get a refund, such as the UK and EU 14-day cooling-off period, you keep that right.
10. Third-party sites and data
Job postings, careers sites and applicant tracking systems belong to third parties. Opening them takes you out of Orbit, and their own terms apply. Company names and logos belong to their owners and are shown only to identify the employer. They do not mean the employer endorses Orbit.
11. Disclaimers
Orbit is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that AI output will always be correct. Nothing in Orbit is legal, immigration, financial or professional careers advice. Nothing in these terms affects your rights as a consumer that cannot be waived by contract.
12. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost opportunities, offers or earnings. Our total liability to you for any claim about Orbit is limited to the amount you paid us for Orbit in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if that is more. We do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
13. Ending and changes
You can stop using Orbit at any time by deleting the app. Paid subscriptions must also be cancelled as described above. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue a paid feature, we will tell you in advance and you will not be charged for periods in which it is unavailable. We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. If you keep using Orbit after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
14. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you can bring claims in your local courts. Questions about these terms: support@example.com.
